"Max the Miracle Pug" was run over by a commuter train in Walpole, Massachusetts and came out without a single scratch. Until the train crew was able to locate Max's owners, they made him an honorary conductor for the day.

More things to be outraged about - in Ethiopia, rare lions at the Lion Zoo are being poisoned and sent to taxidermists because the zoo can't afford to keep them. "These animals are the pride of our country," Muhedin Abdulaziz of the Lion Zoo told The Associated Press. "But our only alternative right now is to send them to the taxidermist."
